Previous Roles

 

Medical Nurse Educator, Waitemata DHB, Auckland.

Co-ordinated the graduate nurses education programme, providing clinical skills and knowledge. Continued my key role in wound management within the organisation.

 

Clinical Nurse Coach, Level 4, Waitemata DHB, Auckland.

Involvement in wound management across the hospital. Ran the nursing wound management module, in-service education sessions for the DHB, and wound education for medical staff.

 

Community Charge Nurse - District Nursing, UK

Ran regular chronic and acute wound clinics and home consultation including leg ulcer management, Doppler assessment, compression therapy, Maggot therapy. A qualified nurse prescriber. The role also involved working as a key professional for the multi-disciplinary team.

 

Board Member Primary Care Group (PCG), UK

A UK government policy introduced PCG’s that brought GP's and Community nursing staff together within a geographical area - our population was 160,000 - to plan, provide and commission all aspects of client care. There was a strong emphasis on co-operation between social and health care. The PCG managed a budget of approximately £60 million (NZ$200 million). The PCG became a trust employing nearly 3,000 staff.
